Frequently Asked Questions – Articles

Here are some common questions about our articles and how they’re created. We want you to feel informed and supported every step of the way.

1
Who writes the articles?

Our articles are written by NHS doctors who base them on up-to-date research, guidelines, and real-life experience. We aim to keep the language clear and the advice practical.

2
Where can I get more information?

Each article includes a list of references at the end. These are clickable and will take you to the original sources if you’d like to explore further.

3
I find it difficult to read — what can I do?

We’ve added a built-in text-to-speech feature. Just tap the audio button at the top of the article and Sofia AI will read it aloud to you.

4
Do you cover other conditions?

We’re starting with menopause and perimenopause, but new articles are added monthly. We’d love to hear what you’d like us to cover next!

5
Is this article relevant to me?

We use globally recognised guidelines, but healthcare advice can differ by country. Always check with your local doctor to make sure the information applies to your situation.

Chatbot & Speech – FAQ

Got questions about how our AI chatbot and speech features work? Here's everything you need to know.

1
What powers the chatbot?

Our chatbot uses the latest large language models developed by OpenAI. It’s trained on vast amounts of health-related data to help you understand symptoms, treatments, and more.

2
Will anyone review my answers?

No — your answers are private. They’re not seen by any doctor or human unless you choose to share them with your own doctor for review.

3
How is the speech generated?

For English, we use a secure on-device AI voice that doesn’t send your data anywhere — keeping things private. For other languages, we use Apple’s high-quality voices built into your device.

4
I made a mistake with an answer — what now?

No problem. You’ll be able to review and edit your answers on the summary page before taking the next step.

5
Can I trust the chatbot?

We’ve designed the chatbot to be helpful, not replace medical advice. It uses up-to-date medical sources, but always double-check things with your doctor if you’re unsure.

6
Can I use the chatbot in different languages?

Right now, the chatbot works best in English, but we’re exploring multi-language support soon. You can still use the speech feature in many different languages today.

Letter Writing – FAQ

Our AI helps you create professional letters based on your health information. Here’s how it works and what you can do with your letters.

1
How is the letter written?

Once you've entered all the details you want through the chatbot and review steps, our AI generates a clear, well-structured letter for you.

2
There's a mistake in the letter — what can I do?

You can easily review and edit the letter before saving it. Just tap anywhere in the letter to make changes, just like editing a normal document.

3
How can I share it with my doctor?

Just tap the share button to send the letter via email or print it out. It's designed to be doctor-ready.

4
Can I see my letter later?

Yes — all your letters are saved on your phone. You can view them at any time and resend or edit them as needed.

5
Can I personalise the letter?

Absolutely. You can adjust the tone, change the wording, or add anything extra before saving or sharing the final version.

6
Do doctors accept AI-written letters?

Yes — the letter includes all the key medical and personal details a doctor needs. However, you’re always encouraged to double-check the content and personalise it if needed.
